In the interests of full disclosure I feel I need to point out I love Waffle House, so much so that when I travel with friends who know me and I am staying South of Delaware they will add points to Hotel choices based on proximity to a Waffle House (points are not deducted because, let’s face it, no place South of Delaware is more than 5 minutes from a Waffle House, it’s simply that walking distance means I don’t have to wake you up for the car keys).
And what’s not to like about a place that will sell you greasy, artery clogging hash browns covered and smothered 24 hours a day?
I’ve also had Oxycontin when I busted up my leg a few years back and it certainly did the trick though I didn’t like it as much as some others because I found it harsh and paranoia (yes, more than usual) inducing.
I know a few people in chronic pain and uniformly they are under-prescribed and suffer almost all the time. They also have to deal with feelings of guilt and unworthiness because our tough guy Calvinist culture equates agony with virtue.
