Actress, author and screenwriter Carrie Fisher died this morning in Los Angeles, California after a cardiac event she suffered on a flight from London, December 23. Best known for her role of Princess Leia Organa in the 1977 film “Star Wars,” Ms. Fisher also wrote seven books, the best known was “Postcards from the Edge” that recounted her battle with drugs and mental illness.
Ms. Fisher is survived by her daughter, Billie Catherine Lourd, her mother Debbie Reynolds, her brother Todd Fisher as well as her half-sisters, actresses Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher.
Ms. Fisher requested that it be included in her obituary that she “died in moonlight, strangled by her own bra.”
