The Civil War

Well, it’s more properly called Wars because there were at least 6 distinct ones (along with several wars of conquest). The first two were between the Long Parliament and Charles the First and ended with his execution in 1648. In 1649 the Rump Parliament drove the forces of his son and heir Charles the Second into exile and ended the first period of The Civil War.
