March Madness: 2017 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament Round of 64- Day 1

The Broadcast of the Women’s Tournament is organized a little differently. All the games share the one channel, ESPN2 (not even the good one), and you don’t get to see the whole game because they concentrate on the most competitive in a given time slot and merely sample the others.

Unless you’re the UConn Huskies. Then you get your own, solo, spot (11 am Saturday) and they show from tip to buzzer. Yup, that good. Also having the network headquartered in Bristol Connecticut doesn’t hurt.

If you’re a fan of another #1 seed you can expect about 4 minutes of coverage until they pull out to a 10 point lead and then it’s over. Sigh. Sucks to be you.

They used to do the Men’s games the same way, now it’s just an indication of systemic misogyny.
