2016 Primaries and Caucuses: March 12

Today the Republicans are holding caucuses in Wyoming and the District of Columbia plus the US island territory, Guam is holding a convention to select delegates. For the Democrats there is a caucus in the Northern Marianna Islands.

Wyoming Republicans vote for national delegates, not a presidential preference. 12 delegates will be selected today. Another 14 delegates will be pledged at the statewide convention on April 14.

There are numerous rallies being held over the next several day by all the candidates in key states that are holding primaries and caucuses on Tuesday, March 15. Needless to say the one’s being held by the lying talking yam, Donald “Drumpf” Trump have gotten the most media attention for the over the top rhetoric and violence that is provoked from the podium by the candidate himself. Yesterday’s rally in Chicago had to be “postponed” by the Trump campaign due the threats of violence by Trump supporters towards the mostly peaceful protesters. This did not happen in a vacuum. It was quite predictable. Mr. Trump has been playing with fire for weeks escalating calls for violence against protesters and reporters. MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow documents the atrocity that is Trump’s campaign.

Peaceful protesting, even flipping the bird, is a First Amendment right. Punching or beating someone for their words or gestures is not and should have consequences. The fault for this lies at the feet of the candidate and those in his party who refuse to denounce him.

  1. Hillary Clinton has won 4 of the Northern Marianna Island’s 6 delegates. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who lost with 34 percent to Clinton’s 54, won two delegates, according to CNN.

One of the Pacific archipelago’s superdelegates had decided to back Clinton before the caucus.

Ted Cruz, meanwhile, picked up a delegate in Guam, but the territory’s other five delegates remain uncommitted.

  2. With 91% of the precincts reporting, the Wyoming Caucus has given Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 9 delegates and, so far, one each for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and the vulgar yapping yam.

  3. Sen. Marco Rubio has been declared the projected winner of the District of Columbia Republican Caucus. He won 11 delegates; Gov. John Kasich was 2nd winning 9. Drumpf and Cruz came in 3rd and 4th respectively, neither received any delegates.
