So where was Dodgers @ Nationals? Rained out because of Matthew. Re-scheduled for 1 pm tomorrow.
Tonight’s game is on MLB Net and as it turns out I do get it in my current location at North Lake where I am enduring some time with Richard and Emily. Damn Leafers. In any event if you are without I’ll be live blogging each At Bat as is my custom when circumstances permit.
Last night was a pitching duel the Cubs (104 – 58) eventually won, but by a thin margin. The Giants (88 – 75) have nothing to be ashamed of.
Yesterday’s Game
Bottom 8th- Solo Shot. Cubs 1 – 0 Final.
Cubs lead Series 1 – 0
That was quick.
Normally this is the part where I try and console the Opening Game losers with platitudes like- “It’s just one game” and “You play for a split on the road and close them out at home” which are true enough. If you can win at least one game at the opposing team’s field you’ve put youself in a position to finish the series at home and proven you can win away. However having seen both the Red Sox and the Rangers go down to 2 nothing and facing elimination, that’s not a position you want to put yourself in if you can avoid it.
The Cubs will be starting Kyle Hendricks (R, 16 – 8, 2.13 ERA) while the Giants will counter with Jeff Samardzija (R, 12 – 11, 3.81 ERA). On paper it doesn’t look like much of a match up but they could surprise us.
