2016 Junior League Division Series: Game 3, Rangers @ Blue Jays

Where was the Indians at Red Sox? Postponed due to Matthew, they will play tomorrow. Now you might have wished it was the game that conflicted with the debate, alas not so. Of course if you’re not a Baseball fan and you still don’t like rubbernecking trainwrecks there’s always Giants/Packers.

The Blue Jays’ (91 – 73) Bats show no sign of flagging with 3 HR leading them to a 2nd victory over the Rangers (95 – 69). Yeah I know the Blue Jays were in exactly the same situation last year and came back but that’s no reason to think the Rangers can do it.

Friday’s Game

Top 2nd- Leadoff Walk. 2 RBI HR. Blue Jays 2 – 0.

Bottom 4th- Single. Single. RBI Single. Blue Jays 2 – 1.

Top 5th- Solo Shot. Blue Jays 3 – 1. Solo Shot. Blue Jays 4 – 1. Solo Shot. Blue Jays 5 – 1.

Bottom 8th Leadoff Double. Walk. RBI Single, Runners at Corners. Blue Jays 5 – 2. RBI Sacrifice. Blue Jays 5 – 3 Final.

Blue Jays lead Series 2 – 0

The Blue Jays have some injury problems. Francisco Liriano suffered a concussion from a line drive in Game 2. Devon Travis has a sore right knee. Facing elimination the Rangers have no tomorrows and won’t save anything on the bench except for their starter who isn’t rested yet anyway.

The Blue Jays will be sending Aarón Sánchez (R, 15 – 2, 3.00 ERA) to the mound, the Rangers will answer with Colby Lewis (R, 6 – 5, 3.71 ERA). Neither are particularly remarkable so it may be a high scoring game, there will certainly be a lot of Rangers pitching changes if they get into trouble.

I think the Rangers are gone in 3 straight and I’m happy enough to see them go. For one thing I hate them and for another it gives me 2 games off.
