Tattle Tale

ek, ek, ek

You know, I have other skillz than simply being an encyclopedia of popular culture, I can program computers for instance and golf (though rather badly). I hated The Brady Bunch during it’s initial insipid broadcast and constant reruns, those who trumpet it (oh, there’s a pun in there- we’ll get to it) as a model of blended family dynamics and suburban stability may have had incredibly fraught childhoods with which I sympathize or are simply suckers for storylines that were hackneyed in 1960 black and white.

Hey, people like what they like, I’m not here to pass judgement.

As the song goes, it was the story of a lovely lady who was bringing up three very lovely girls. All of them had hair of gold, like their mother, the youngest one in curls. Most of the female plot lines (to the extent they had them, remember The Mary Tyler Moore Show was considered entirely revolutionary when in fact it was a catalog of workplace harassment) revolved around ek, ek, ek Marsha, Marsha, Marsha (Maureen McCormick) and Jan’s (Eve Plumb) middle child vs. elder child rivalry. To the extent that Cindy (Susan Olsen) was recognized at all it was because of her speech impediment (she had a lisp, I stutter- I’m also a fearless wiz at Public Speaking but I have to remind myself to slow down since it’s a symptom of my brain working faster than my lips) and her primary personality trait of narcing out her siblings.

Yeah, she isn’t really a very nice person.

So it is not surprising at all that she grew up to be a right wing radio talk show host and Trump supporter (oh, now the pun makes sense) who is currently unemployed because of homophobic and misogynous Facebook trolling.

Trump-loving former ‘Brady Bunch’ star fired from radio job for calling listener a ‘pathetic little c*nt’

A former child star who appeared on the late 60’s “Brady Bunch” television show has been fired from her Los Angeles radio gig after hopping on Facebook to write several vicious homophobic attacks on a listener who complained about her support for President-elect Donald Trump.

According to Towleroad, writer/producer Leon Acord-Whiting complained about ‘Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics’ host Susan Olson, who once portrayed Cindy Brady on the popular sit-com. On LA Talk Radio’s Facebook page, Acord-Whiting wrote, “It is wildly irresponsible for LA Talk Radio to allow a Trump fanatic to co-host one of their programs, where she can spew her idiotic lies unchecked.”

Acord-Whting, added, “I think LA Talk Radio needs to give “Cindy Brady” her walking papers. I will not listen to or appear on any shows there from this point forward until she’s gone. This isn’t just disagreeing on, say, tax plans or foreign policy. Susan Olsen spreads outrageous misinformation & it is dangerous and unprofessional.”

Proving his point about being “unprofessional,” Olson returned fire by first calling the producer a “little piece of human waste,” before encouraging her followers to track him down.

She then private messaged Acord-Whiting with a homophobic screed which he in turn provided to her bosses.

That would be a Facebook “Private Message” that are, of course, not at all ‘private’, which indicates she’s a Victoria Jackson class moron.

Hey, I’m being charitable, it is the highest functioning level of sub-normal intelligence. You can hold a job (well, not her, but she’ll get the wingnut welfare), bathe and dress yourself, perform unsupervised cooking including chopping stuff, and using stoves and ovens with a minimal chance of opening a vein, burning down the house, or blowing up the block.

This is huge. Independent living. I’ll bet she can drive a car based on what I see on the road every day.

We must not only let them alone, but we must somehow, convince them that we do let them alone. This, we know by experience, is no easy task. We have been so trying to convince them from the very beginning of our organization, but with no success. In all our platforms and speeches we have constantly protested our purpose to let them alone; but this has had no tendency to convince them. Alike unavailing to convince them, is the fact that they have never detected a man of us in any attempt to disturb them.

These natural, and apparently adequate means all failing, what will convince them? This, and this only: cease to call slavery wrong, and join them in calling it right. And this must be done thoroughly – done in acts as well as in words. Silence will not be tolerated – we must place ourselves avowedly with them. Senator Douglas’ new sedition law must be enacted and enforced, suppressing all declarations that slavery is wrong, whether made in politics, in presses, in pulpits, or in private. We must arrest and return their fugitive slaves with greedy pleasure. We must pull down our Free State constitutions. The whole atmosphere must be disinfected from all taint of opposition to slavery, before they will cease to believe that all their troubles proceed from us.

Nope. Sorry. I do not approve and I never will. Besides it won’t work. We are clearly traitors because once opposed, however mildly, you are permanently tarred.

Susan, you’re a hateful slug who ought to be looking for a way to slime yourself under a rock before light exposure turns you to a crispy driveway blemish.
