Minnows.

crossposted from The Wild Wild Left

The crunch of the sand seemed intrusive to the pre-dawn still of the morning, as she dragged the row boat off of its little wooden dolly that served as a trailer for the riding mower. “If the mower didn’t wake up the world, this surely won’t,” she thought.

The little electric motor was blessedly quiet as she slipped around the first sand bar and headed out of the cove into the lake proper. The sky was still silver, the water inky with the beginnings of the fingerlets of mist striving to break free from the confines of their fellow molecules in the lake. It was already warm, going to be a scorcher. The air smelled soft and thick as the birds started announcing the arrival of the first light.

She cut the motor and drifted into the second sandbar at the point. She needed the stillness and to think. She slipped off the shirt and shorts covering her bathing suit and stepped off into the water. Water always felt like home. It brought the inner quiet that brought the clarity the city sounds always drove out. Out in the water, or in the woods; it was a different world, a world in which there was only you and the everything. It made one feel both infinitesimally small, and immeasurably connected.

There was no better place to be at the crossroads in your life.

Minority Rapport ~ Note from a 3rd Party Fringer

Good morning. As I whip out a few hundred words with my first cup of coffee, it is so reassuring to know that I am so far out here on the far-left fringes that all 7 people who think remotely like me will be forgiving of its brevity and levity in the face of such a serious topic.

You see, overall the last ditch response to people like me that refuse to be enablers of the Uniparty of the Korporate State reads pretty much thus: “You are a big STUPID HEAD, and no one thinks like you!!” Well, golly surely it is better to be all alone~y by myself out here on the fringiest fringe, than to run with the sheep over the cliff. Sorry cupcake, I ain’t buying it.

Let me state that anyone who has a remote understanding of history, understanding not just rote-recall of dates and names, knows what happens to Empires when they turn their greed and avarice on their own people. Rome, falls, biotches. Hitler burns. Moscow rises. People revolt. Now, understanding that fact also presumes the knowledge that this doesn’t always work out too well for the people. Sometimes revolution just replaces one set of despots with another set. Kinda like ’08 did here. Puts a happy shiney face on the same abuses, repackages the arsenic and not much changes.

So sue me if I cannot see the ‘rigidity’ in thinking outside the rigid parameters of “tried and failed” that is the course of operating under a flawed system, nay a system not just flawed but diabolically stacked against us.

This is where the Smug Liberals lose the working class as much as the Righteous Righties do… they forget that one root, bit by bit can crack a boulder. Count on that lonely buttercup!

WWL Radio #103 The Road to Sedition

Its the First of April, and we are being played as fools. I wish it were something so blythe as a prank. The Ruling Class of this country have initiated and succeeded in Sedition against every principle we were taught our country stands for; every action is Sedition against you, me, we the People.

PhotobucketState by State they illegally restrict our rights and our ability to redress our complaints. They outlaw Unions, they restrict aid, threaten our very right to representation.

Nationally, the Uniparty blows smoke up our collective hineys, while continuing the process of extraction upward to move the wealth of the land into a few Oligarch’s hands.

Internationally, the Military Industrial Complex continues its march toward hegemony and terror.

All the while the people continue to be distracted by shiny lies, false-flag enemies and the kabuki theater of Good Cop/Bad Cop that our two-party system has become. The Left, as well as the Right continue to believe that a D or an R is their only option, rather than trashing the corporate funded lot of them, and rallying behind a new Party, in some twisted logic of “lesser evil” that makes the Rich squeal in delight.

You fight fire with fire, and sedition with sedition. Only is it really sedition to defend ourselves and refuse to comply with those who have co-opted our government; demand freedom, health, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?

We are being FORCED down this road. To live as slaves or die as free men.

Game On.

PhotobucketI make my return to the air on the edges of one of my own changes in my life’s path. Such is nature, such is life, yes?

There are natural disasters, natural courses that the human species must endure. So many of these stories I am playing catch-up on tonight illustrate the most unnatural disasters, imbalances cause purely by the idiocy and greed of men.

From preventing girls from mimicking breast-feeding, to our wars of imperialism and greed, to revisionist history attacking the US workforce to the complete utter disregard for logic in nuclear programs… its not going to take much to make the stones come tumbling down upon us.

My work, and your work here is not done, my friends, though others have done their share and now rest.

My Man, My Son, My Life

Someone pointed him out to me across the bar on a 4th of July afternoon bender after a day at the Lake and a night prior of coking and joking, “That guy over there is Michael, he could give you guitar lessons.” I was 21. It was 1984.

I took one look, and as God as my witness gasped and said, “Oh my God, that man is going to be my best friend or worst enemy.” He had presence, in a way most people cannot even fathom unless you met him. Intensity, intelligence, awareness, all with a touch of dangerousness that kept many at a distance.

I had someone introduce us. He took me home that night, and played a bit of guitar for me. We talked like I’d never been able to talk to anyone in my entire life until sleep took us. He was a gentleman, and I was a Catholic girl. The second night? I molested him, unable to refrain from his lure. He didn’t object a bit. I have been with him ever since.

PhotobucketTHIS MEANS WAR!!!!

We’ve been predicting this for years. Maybe not so much as prophesy, but in direct observation of how the Class War has unfolded incrementally.

There is a full frontal attack directly against American Workers going on, finally blatant enough that even the most sheepish have become enraged as 30 states introduce legislation trying to Union Bust and redirect resources from the elderly, the students, the poor and the working class directly into the hands of Big Business.

People are hitting the streets, rising up, calling for General Strikes…. how long, I wonder before the next wave of awareness hits and our citizens realize that neither Republicans nor their Democratic counterparts truly represent us anymore?

It is time, my friends, for a Worker’s Party to rise from the ashes they have made of our lives and take over.

I am now jaded enough to see the tragedies unfolding from Japan’s horrific earthquake and the tsunamis yet to come as of this writing as something that the Elites will use immediately to manipulate the market and increase their Wealth even more. They undoubtedly will scream “Financial Crisis” and use it to strip us of even more rights and assets. Remember where you heard that first, and do NOT believe them!

.

This is a time of hope and wonder… as I told my son last night, “Those people out there in the streets are the salvation of your future!”

Viva la revolucion!

There is much to discuss, join me tonight – Call in!

It is a VERY good day indeed to be the Voice of the Real Left.

Class War Coup d’ Etat: Un-Nation of Laws

Well, the news is already out. Republicans now think they can pass laws with no public debate and without the presence of their Democratic counter-parts. We know why they do this.

Because they can.

Madison Wisconsin is a testing ground for the final battles of the Class War. “How much money and rights can we strip from the People and pass up to the Elites without actual consequence?” They ask themselves, while resting warm, well fed and comfy in their Executive Suites in the jobs the tax payers provide for them. “Eventually all those idiots will grow tired and go home. And, if they get in any way violent? We’ll call them terrorists and use deadly force. They’re broke and hungry, they have to go home sometime, or back to their jobs for whatever pittance we choose to pay them. We can just outlast them.

In Michigan Republicans have decided that they can dissolve local Governments and appoint “Managers” that have every right to dissolve Unions, Contracts and “decide” the budget expenditures with no input from the voters at all.

(Video is a few days old and slanted toward the right)

Why do they think they can do this?

The Misfortune of the Libyan People

Of all the uprisings happening in the world today, the Libyan People are going to be the most unfortunate.

We’re not talking about unfortunate in the sense of seeing a woman with an exceptionally large mouth hooked up with a guy with exceptionally small hands, “Woooow, now that’s unfortunate!” kind of way.

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

We’re talking more like you’re Michael Jackson and instead of dying, you just dropped the soap in the Aryan Nation end of the prison shower after being convicted of child molestation unfortunate.

There is no way this is going to end well for them. Its not just going to leave them vaguely dissatisfied, its going to leave them scarred and royally screwed.

No WWL Radio Tonight

Updated: We canceled the brain scan appt due to the weather, and Mike opted out of a reschedule. We agreed that if the lung cancer is killing him this fast, the brain cancer, if its in there? Redundant test and pointless 30k out of pocket. Sigh.

Of COURSE, every time we have had a Doctors appointment this past month, there has been weather; today is no exception. We had a freezing rain overnight and everything is glare ice.

By 6;30 am I was tied to the local news, amazed that there were no school closings. Nearly every major freeway around here had been closed due to accidents. They finally, about 15 minutes before Jake’s bus put his school on a 2 hour delay.

Last night was already tough. Our first truly frightening day. I didn’t expect it because he had a fairly good day. I think because his friend came over, and the oxygen tech, he didn’t get his day-sleep in and over exhausted himself. Or maybe it grew just enough to finally collapse that airway enough that even coughing can’t get air into the collapsed right lung. I dunno.

He struggled to breathe all evening. Gasping, breathing too fast… I had to keep talking him through trying to slow it down. I spent four hours watching his every breath. I finally got him to sleep and it normalized. Part of it I think is that he took his Ty 3 too late. The other is he panic attacked about it. But the obstructed airways sound worse by the day. Its like it went from not-good to “I didn’t expect this for months” in a few days. On oxygen no less. “In through your nose slow, babe, don’t try and make it too deep or you’ll cough… then out through your mouth like a straw.” A few times when it got too fast and I could see his chest and stomach almost convulse, I resorted to having him “sssss” it in through clenched teeth with a wide mouth barely parted, and blow out just to control the spasm. Almost like childbirth breathing. Neither one worked too well. He couldn’t lay down, or he started coughing uncontrollably, felt like he was choking/drowning. “I can’t get air!” is the most he could muster to speak the whole time.

So all he could do is sit up. He was hunched, weak, so I sat behind him and supported him against my body, holding his shoulders back trying to open the chest cavity more, so he wasn’t crunching it more by bending that far up. I kept being afraid he would just stop last night, or pass out. He has asked me for a DNR and no life support under any circumstances. So, am I supposed to just let him stop breathing already, or call an ambulance if it gets worse? I realized I will have to watch him die at some point, but last night shoved it home. Its horrifying to stand watch for hours doing nothing but watching someone breathe. I even watched for hours after he fell asleep.

He’s sleeping, and breathing ok now, ok being relative. It still sounds like a death rattle and is shallow and quick, but its even at least.

I am seriously worried about getting him in the car, let alone the drive.  I am loathe to wake him, afraid it will start another attack. But they want the brain scan. Not gonna make much difference if he can’t breathe though.

I have been dreaming that I cannot sleep and am trying to get to sleep in the dream itself, exhausted and unable to get rest. Don’t need Freud to figure out what that means. But last night, thankfully, I slept sound until the alarm. The first time in a week I got more than 4 fitful hours. Then I felt bad because I should have checked on him. Yeah, I know, I ain’t superwoman.

Gah. I’m off today, at least. Though I have no idea what I will do with myself w/o the show and him catching up his rest.  Linda has plans, so no yahtzee distraction. Maybe he will let me give him a sponge bath.

Maybe I’ll be able to write something of Political substance today. That would be nice. My brain gets too full if I can’t purge it on paper.
