Golly gee, seems to be a big kerfluffle in DC as institutional Democrats finally start reading some polls and find out that Villain Shifting and Blame the ‘Thugs ain’t gonna fool none of the people none of the time this time.

Folks, you read it here years and months ahead.  ‘I told you so‘ schadenfreude is an unavoidable reaction.

Anyone who claims they care about ‘Electoral Victory’ is a liar.

Now that it’s too fucking late to do anything about bad policy what is going to stave off the inevitable defeat they richly deserve?

How about some firings Barack?

How about Rahm “Fuck You” Emanuel?  What about “Peter Principle” Timmeh and Larry “Always Wrong” Summers?

Do I want to see heads on pikes?

Metaphorically yes.  These people have failed so badly their firing is already inevitable and has been for months which is why they are trying to fluff their crash pads.  Why not before the election while you can get some bounce from it Barack?

We vote for change and we’re going to keep voting until we get it.

  1. What Went Wrong: The Rahm Factor

    1. BP is Obama’s Katrina.

You can’t look at the polls and deny it.

      1. I’m a traitor.

      2. my neighbors who I hustled to Obama started months age with the what’s up with Obama and the Democrats. People are not this stupid. Lot’s o stupid people but most Democrats and liberal and yung un’s the coalition that won in 2006 and in 2008 are not this stupid. They may vote out of oh not the lunatics again but as things getr worse and the ‘reality’ of what we the people are being delt via ‘reform’ I think it makes little difference. Cowards and royalists are whistling in the wind.

  2. Is another one that should be shown the door.

  3. Apparently some WH staffers went whining to Politico that the President’s falling poll numbers and popularity are the fault of the left wing bloggers.

While Obama may have gotten more so-called left wing legislation passes, as Ian Welsh at Crooks & Liars points out not quality not quantity that counts in the end.

Here’s the thing. What matters is whether policy works. It does not matter if what Obama did was more left wing than anything that’s been done in a while (though in absolute terms I would argue it mostly wasn’t left wing, the health care plan, for example, was essentially a Republican plan from the 90s), what matters is if it was left wing enough (big enough stimulus, smart enough health care plan) to improve people’s lives enough that they noticed.

It wasn’t, and that’s all that matters. Policies such as the stimulus were not done well enough, and everyone from Nobel prize winners with good predictive records like Stiglitz and and Krugman, down to nobodies like me, predicted it at the time. The President hired the wrong people to give him advice, didn’t even do as much as many of them wanted, and now we all pay the price.

Sometimes half doesn’t work. Half-assed rarely does.

All Obama’s half assed “left wing” policies have done is discredit the left for another generation.

Combined with the ability of the media, Republicans and hysterical Tea Baggers unable to use a dictionary to define him as a “socialist” this means that Obama’s policies are seen as left wing, and left wing policies are seen to have failed.

  4. the Democrats will not learn the right lessons from their upcoming defeats. Scott Brown all over again.

It’ll be more of the same beltway villager MSM “center right country” “Obama’s half measures were too bold” bull shit.

    1. We must have put some “fear” in Geithner after all the blogosphere angst over an unsourced article in the Huffington Post
