Prime Time

Well, your host for Prime Time ek hornbeck is off this evening so Prime Time is being hosted by yours truly, TheMomCat, tonight. Don’t be too hard on me since I don’t watch TV all that much. So this will be an abbreviated edition tonight with some Live Blogging of Game 2 of the MLB Playoffs with San Francisco at Philadelphia in Game 2 of the NL Championship Series which starts at 8 PM.

Since it is in Fox here in NYC those of you unfortunate enough to have Cable Vision as your cable provider you are out of luck unless you have a converter and rabbit ears. Cable Vision and Fox are still duking it out over how much Fox wants from Cable Vision for the privilege of airing their channels.

I am also not much of a sports fan, so feel free to comment along with me as I call the balls and strikes. Just keep in mind I have no clue as to who the top players are and absolutely no favorite in this ball game.

Now my attempt at the Unusual Suspects for your viewing pleasure.

  1. is about to start. The commentators are bemoaning that this may be the Phillies last game at home if they don’t win tonight. As per ek, last night’s game was a pitcher’s dueling contest and boring. I couldn’t tell you, I was busy advising parents with toddlers on how to deal with low grade fevers and coughs.

The National Anthem has been rendered by a horn quartet with fire works, etc. We are spared the obligatory off key, over top lyrics forgotten version by some current pop icon like Jason Bieber.

  2. is in NBC Episode Detail: Sunday Night Football:Colts at Redskins – Sunday Night Football

Indianapolis (3-2) at Washington (3-2). Two of the NFL’s most experienced QBs face off as Peyton Manning leads Indy into FedEx Field to battle Donovan McNabb and the Redskins. Their most popular targets are Miami products Reggie Wayne and Santana Moss.

American Football is boring. A lot of standing around and waiting for 10 seconds of play.

  3. 1st inning: Giants at bat, et voila, 3 batters strike out and the sides change. That was fast.

  4. Phillies with runners on 1st & 3rd an an error for the Giants who dropped the ball

  5. The bases are now loaded.

  6. Batter walked and 1 run walked to home. Bases are still loaded and 2 outs

  7. Nice catch of a high fly ball for the first out.

    Three throws & 2nd out.

    Cody Ross walks.

    last out, sides change. Boring

How do American’s watch this stuff? I’d be unconscious by now if this were the only thing I was doing

  8. Phillies’ Howard hit one for a double with 2 outs. 2 runners on 1st & 3rd.

Phillies strike out with 2 runners on. No points for that

  9. Giant’s Sanchez out. Huff(?) out. 9 pitches, 9 strikes.

More bad fielding by the Giants. One Phillies runner on 1st.

    2 out one on 2nd.

    eh

  10. Happened while commentators babbling about Giants’ pitcher, Sanchez, getting his groove back

  11. Victorino hits a double with no outs. Commentators say he is good at stealing 3rd

  12. Uttley hits single, out at 1st Victorino on 3rd. Another out at 1st and Victorino scores. 2 – i Phillies

  13. but here comes “God Bless America” to mark the 7th Inning stretch.

OMG she is bad. Kate Smith must be turning in her grave.

  14. Oswald home after a base hit

  15. 3 run double Phillies 6 – 1

  16. As expected there were some unforeseen parts of the agenda and I thank you for being able to cover on such short notice.
