Vox Frustrati (Vol. 1): Dissent

(3:30 – promoted by TheMomCat)

Welcome to the diary series, Vox Frustrati.  Vox is a persona and this project is a collaboration.  Today, we welcome Vox and we are very excited about his inaugural broadcast.  We congratulate him on his debut.

Vox Frustrati is here to give voice to our progressive concerns.  He welcomes correspondence from you via kosmail or at VoxFrustrati at gmail dot com.

If you have something to say, a rant, a comment or a question, Vox might decide to lend you his voice, either anonymously or with your byline. It is your choice.  Vox does reserve editorial rights.

Transcript:

This is Vox Frustrati, a voice of progressives everywhere.

Dissent is being stifled in this land, even in the progressive netroots.

Dissent is the engine of change.  It is the thorn in the ass of the complicious politician and without it we are doomed to the continual erosion of our rights and liberties.  It has been said that dissent is the highest form of patriotism.  Vox agrees. And in case you are wondering, Vox is the voice of an American citizen with two generations of descendants born in this land, not some offshore shill with no skin in the game.

Those who would stifle dissent are our enemies.

We are witnessing the decline of our once great nation, hijacked by that gorgon, the military-industrial complex, by the hydra tentacles of Wall Street whose greed knows no bounds, by bought politicians who violate their oaths of office each and every day.

To precis Edwin Milliken:

Who is in charge of the clattering train?

The axles creak and the couplings strain,

and the pace is hot and the points are near,

and sleep hath deadened the driver’s ear,

and the signals flash through the night in vain,

for death is in charge of the clattering train.

We can leave death in charge or we can fight.  And we can only win if we work and fight together.

Sadly, there are those amongst us who are so enamored of their partisanship that they are blinded to what is going on around us.

We all worked tirelessly to bring in a Democratic majority in 2008 and our help achieved it.

We fought to end the wars, to curb the avaricious banksters, to bring jobs to all, to preserve the middle class and where are we now?

More wars, greater debt, the abuse and greed of Wall Street undented, the gap between rich and poor ever widening.

Can you honestly say this is progress?

Vox cannot and will not.  Vox will be fearless in his fulminations.  Fractious, fanatical, forthright, fiery, not feeble, feckless or fainthearted.

Vox despises the deniers, the defamers, the dissimulators, the deceivers, the dulcifiers, the double dealers, the denigrators, the dumb-headed denizens of DailyKos who would deter debate, the dissimulators who would demean and defame us, the defenders of duplicity who would doom us to despair and the deifiers who denigrate dissent.
